Repair and restore
When I finally get a little bit of down time I like to restore old computers, mostly Acorns. Here's an Archimedes A310 I've been working on recently. Times were simpler back then, if something went wrong the individual chips made it far simpler to diagnose what had happened. It was a time when manufacturers actually gave you electronics schematics in the manual. Man, I feel old now!
Repairing these little pieces of history keeps them out of landfill and have proven themselves to be excellent tools to teach the nephews about early computers BEFORE the internet. They couldn't comprehend the horrors of waiting for games to load from a tape!
