Bioethanol stoves use a carbon neutral fuel made from fermenting plant based matter. No flue or chimeny is required as the burn only produces a small amount of carbon dioxide and water. This makes these stoves ideal for placing pretty much anywhere you like in your room. It also means all the heat energy is used as it doesn't escape up a chimney.

We have teamed up with Arada (who are based in Devon) to bring you high quality stoves. These aren't like many of the bioethanol burners you might find on eBay, these are REAL log burning stoves converted to use bioethanol fuel. They are cast iron (40Kg!) and that really works to extract the most energy from the flame.

The burner inside the stove can hold 800ml of bioethanol which will last over 2 hours on full heat or nearly 5 on low heat. The heaters have been rated by Arada at 2.46kW which is equivalent to a high output electric heater but a lot more interesting!

  • An Arada Solution 5 bioethanol stove
  • 1litre of bioethanol fuel
  • Manual
  • Cardboard box to make forts with or a bed for your cat.
  • Heat nominal: 1kW to 2.46kW
  • Fuel rate nominal: 350ml/h to 160ml/h
  • Fuel: 96% bioethanol
  • Tank: 0.8 litres
  • Weight: 40Kg
  • Dimensions (standard):436mm x 387mm x 551mm
  • Dimensions (wide): 519mm x 287mm x 551mm
  • Only bioethanol fuel produced specifically for heaters should be used. This is generally around 96% purity. Higher or lower purities can cause combustion inefficiencies and create undesirable fumes.
  • It is recommended a carbon monoxide detector is fitted in the room. This is true of ANY combustion heater and is a standard precaution.
  • This should not be used in rooms smaller than 15m³. There should also be some ventilation in the room during use such as a trickle vent or air brick.
  • Never refill the heater when it is still hot or lit.
  • There is a very slight smell, like hand sanitiser, on lighting and extinguishing the fire. This is perfectly normal and safe. Low odour and scented fuel can be bought if it's an issue.
  • Clearly the metalwork of the heater is going to become hot, especially the top. Make sure you place it in an appropriate room location with some clearance all around. Do not place anything on the stove.
  • Fuel can be bought from various suppliers such as eBay or Amazon. It's usually supplied in 1 litre bottles.
